    $25.00 - $28.00 per Hour DOE

    Position Summary

    The Blaine Chamber of Commerce is seeking an enthusiastic, organized, and relationship-focused Executive

    Director to lead the Chamber's daily operations, membership programs, visitor services, marketing efforts, and

    community engagement activities. This highly visible position serves as the primary representative of the

    Chamber and works closely with the Board of Directors, local businesses, visitors, community organizations,

    and government partners to support a thriving business community and promote Blaine as a destination to

    live, work, shop, and visit. Responsibilities align with existing Chamber and Welcome Center operations.

    Key Responsibilities

    Chamber Leadership & Operations

    Manage the day-to-day operations of the Blaine Chamber of Commerce and Welcome Center.

    Serve as the primary point of contact for Chamber members, visitors, volunteers, community

    partners, and stakeholders.

    Implement Board goals, policies, and strategic initiatives.

    Prepare reports, updates, and recommendations for the Board of Directors.

    Maintain professional, welcoming, and customer-focused operations.

    Membership & Community Relations

    Recruit, retain, and engage Chamber members through relationship-building and outreach.

    Build and maintain strong partnerships with local businesses, community organizations, tourism

    partners, and government agencies.

    Coordinate member onboarding, renewals, and recognition efforts.

    Represent the Chamber at community meetings, networking events, and business functions.

    Marketing & Communications

    Manage the Chamber's social media presence across multiple platforms.

    Create engaging digital content including posts, reels, stories, videos, photography, and carousels.

    Maintain the Chamber website, newsletters, media communications, and promotional materials.

    Promote Chamber events, member businesses, tourism opportunities, and community initiatives.

    Welcome Center & Visitor Services

    Oversee daily operations of the Welcome Center, ensuring a positive visitor experience.

    attractions, events, and tourism opportunities.

    Recruit, train, schedule, and support Welcome Center volunteers.

    Ensure volunteers are properly trained on customer service standards,

    Chamber procedures, point-of-sale (POS) systems, and visitor information

    resources.

    Maintain a welcoming, organized, and professional visitor environment.

    Merchandise & Retail Operations

    Manage Chamber and Welcome Center merchandise sales and inventory.

    Oversee product ordering, displays, inventory tracking, and vendor relationships.

    Monitor and reconcile POS transactions and ensure accurate retail reporting.

    Identify opportunities to increase retail sales and enhance the visitor experience.

    Data Tracking & Administration

    Maintain accurate membership, visitor, event, volunteer, and retail sales records.

    Utilize spreadsheets and databases to track performance metrics and trends.

    Prepare monthly and quarterly reports for the Board of Directors.

    Support budgeting, financial tracking, and administrative functions.

    Events & Programs

    Coordinate Chamber events, educational seminars, networking opportunities, ribbon cuttings, and

    community programs.

    Assist with sponsorship development, volunteer coordination, and event promotion.

    Support tourism and economic development initiatives that benefit the Blaine community.

    Work Schedule

    Part-time, approximately 30 hours per week.

    Flexible schedule required, including occasional evenings and weekends to support Welcome

    Center operations, Chamber events, educational seminars, community functions, and tourism-

    related activities.

    Required Qualifications

    Three or more years of experience in business, nonprofit, marketing, tourism, retail, customer

    service, or community leadership.

    Strong relationship-building and networking skills.

    Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

    Experience managing social media platforms and creating digital content, including reels and

    promotional posts.

    Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities

    independently.

    Professional, positive, and customer-focused approach.

    Ability to occasionally attend evening or weekend events.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Experience working with a Chamber of Commerce, Welcome Center, tourism organization,

    destination marketing organization, hospitality business, or economic development agency.

    Knowledge of the Blaine, Birch Bay, and Whatcom County tourism market.

    Experience with membership-based organizations and volunteer coordination.

    Experience in retail sales, merchandising, and inventory management.

    Familiarity with ChamberMaster or similar membership management software.
